Its Habitat:
It is an ectoparasite to the Honey Bee.
There Nearly World Wide.
Its Negative Effects:
Varroa mites spread naturally between bee colonies by travelling on the bees
A heavily infested colony may have mites on a third or more of adult bees or brood.
Attack by varroa mite weakens bees, shortens their lives, or causes death from virus infections that would otherwise cause little harm
Its Posotive Effects:
It does not cause harm to people.
They only feed onto bees.
What Can Be Done:
Varroa
mites can be treated with commercially-available miticides.
Proper use of miticides also slows the development of resistance of the mites.
